Livia’s Kitchen Launches Free-From Desserts and Sweet Treats
As a self made chocoholic and lover of all things sweet it was music to my ears to hear all about Livia’s Kitchen cooking outrageously heavenly, guilt free cakes and treats knowing there is nothing horrible in them. If you are a lover of indulging in delicious comfort food but want to do this in a nourishing way, then Livia’s Kitchen is one for you to try. Even though the ingredients are simple and natural offering nutritional benefits, rest assured that the taste is never compromised.
Having been diagnosed with multiple food intolerance, Olivia Wollenberg left behind a career in neuroscience and launched Livia’s Kitchen in October 2014. She saw a gap in the market for free-from desserts which were nutritious and indulgent so embarked upon an eight-week business course at UCL; Livia’s Kitchen’s first range of products, The Superfood Crumbles launched into Selfridges in October 2014. They were a nutritious twist on a quintessentially British dessert made with a fresh fruit compote and oat topping. The crumbles were discontinued in December 2015 and replaced by a range of Raw Millionaire Shortbreads in February of this year. The Bites have been bestsellers in Selfridges, Wholefoods, Planet Organic and launched into Waitrose in November.
“These are an absolute favourite of mine, I ate the entire bag in just under a minute.”
The Raw Millionaire Bites
Free-from gluten, dairy, refined sugars and are suitable for vegans. For Olivia, the focus is not only on what they are free-from but also on what they are made with, ensuring to use natural, nutritious ingredients without ever compromising on taste. The Bites come in 3 flavours – Chocolate Orange, Salted Date Caramel and Almond and Raisin and in both sharing tubs and grab ‘n’ go bars. They consist of a crumbly oat base covered with a gooey date caramel, topped with smooth, rich dark raw chocolate.
Olivia created Livia’s Kitchen in order to share her;
“love of natural sweet treats”and help others looking for healthier desserts. “Within two months of changing my diet, I noticed that not only had I stopped suffering from stomach issues, but I felt so much stronger and healthier in myself and I wanted to help others to do the same.”
With the Raw Millionaire Bites now in Waitrose, and going into other major retailers in the new year, Livia’s Kitchen is developing their next range of products to be released in March 2017. They plan to broaden their range throughout the year, combining Olivia’s love of baking and business to add lots more indulgent treats to the healthy snack market. Olivia wants to “show the world that eating well doesn’t have to be boring and that healthier treats can be even more indulgent and delicious than traditional ones!”
