Rocket Yourself To Out Of Space

Rocket yourself to out of space and take yourself on a journey to Londons newest most stylish place to stay. The Mondrian At Sea Containers which is sat on the South Bank of the Thames – part of the Morgans Hotel group.

London has so much choice, everything you could possibly want for a city break.
This hotel wowed me from start to finish in every possible way.

The stylish designed hotel by Tom Dixon brings a bold new energy to London, blending the style and sophistication of the boutique brand.

We were greeted at the entrance by the friendly and handsome concierge who carried our luggage into the extremely arty lobby – candle lit which smelt of their signature room spray. There was a large blue sculpture of an enormous chain, the reception was cladded with rustic metal eccoing this nuvo nautical theme, staff were dressed in futuristic jumpers to add to the atmosphere. It was just amazing and certainly not a generic first impression.

We travelled up to our suite in the lift which had a floor to ceiling 3D print of one of Henry Bourne’s impressionable photographs. It featured an artronaught holding a small white dog stood next to an African gentleman in a bold suit which further added to feeling a part of some sort of weird and wonderful art installation.

The river side suite had many more wacky features with its 5* edge mirrored glass tables, cutting edge furniture, a grey, pink and black splat on the wall. Finishing touches such as the gold fortune cookie filled with a positive message I found inventive, quirky and fun.

We did the proper tourist thing and went to see a show, dined in style and then headed back to the hotel bar.
The night started at the restaurant Novikov in the heart of Mayfair,  the service and food lived up to its exceptional standards.

The bodyguard was showing at the Dominion Theatre, it was well commissioned although Beverly knight left the performance half way through due to illness.

After our night on the town we ended the party with cocktails in the roof top bar in The Rumpus Room – the vibe was electric – perfect service , 90s R & B and great company.

The morning after the night before is usually a struggle. The Mondrian hotel seemed to be able to soften the blow with breakfast in bed. We both ordered smashed avocado on sour dough with runny eggs which was served with fresh orange juice. We opted for the healthy option but they had a variety of choice to please anyone’s taste.

After devouring our breakfast we headed down to the spa which never failed to impress with separate male and female steam rooms, a mud room, an extensive list of treatments and a clinical relaxation room with an oversized gold drop situated in the middle of the room which made us feel like we had fallen down a rabbit hole in Alice in wonderland.

We were so impressed with the hotel that we actually extended our stay as we were simply just not ready to leave.  All of the food was stunning and the location was perfect, we hope to return in the very near future.
