Aunty Fabulous Coaching Session 1

You may have heard of her before, every week she launches a new video on her YouTube channel (don’t forget to subscribe) and her personal website has just launched www.auntyfabulous.com

We had the chance to catch up with our in house agony aunt ‘Aunty Fabulous‘ and hear some of the questions she has been asked, it was a great to hear how, ‘Aunty Fabulous’ tackled these obstacles.

Question : We tend to find that a lot of our readers struggle to keep their fitness regime fun and due to that they stop exercising completely. How can you keep this essential weekly activity fun for those that dread it?

Aunty Fabulous Says:

There are so many ways to keep fit and have fun if you want to do it!

You may have a thousand excuses and reasons you can’t exercise by telling yourself it’s not fun, you are too busy with your children, you don’t have time and are exhausted by the end of the day!

Or perhaps work commitments are too much and you make the excuse you can’t take any more on! ‘I DON’T HAVE TIME AND IT’S BORING TO EXERCISE!!!’ is the excuse I always hear along with ‘my bingo wings are so flabby’ or ‘my bottom looks so big and my tummy looks terrible!!’

You may think it’s so much simpler to take the easy way out by having an extra hour in bed in the mornings or staying at home watching TV every evening with a packet of biscuits or box of chocolates! None of these will change your shape and solve your problems!

It’s time to STOP making excuses and GET UP! GET OUT AND GET GOING! Get fit and get healthy!

Aunty Fabulous Tip:

Delete the word CAN’T from your vocabulary and start telling yourself ‘I want to get fit & have fun’ ‘I want to feel better’ ‘I want to have more energy!’ ‘I am going to get fit’ ‘I am going to be Fit, Firm & Fabulous!’ Write yourself affirmations like these on a piece of card and stick it on your fridge or somewhere you will see them every day!

When we exercise, our body releases chemicals called endorphins which trigger a positive feeling in our body and lift our mood. This helps to increase our energy which means you hopefully won’t feel so tired all the time and will want to exercise more regularly.

Aunty Fabulous Tip:

Exercising in numbers can ensure you always have a friend to encourage you.

Plan a time three times a week to do some kind of exercise with a friend or a few friends that will work with your schedules. If there are more of you and one can’t make it you will always have someone to workout with.

Music is a great way to get you motivated and energised. Dance classes like Zumba, Salsa or even Belly Dancing can do the trick and can be a lot of fun at the same time!

A fabulously different night is having a belly dancing evening or party with your friends which can be a wonderful fun energy booster too! Tevec teaches classes and offers belly dancing parties in North London and will make sure you have a class or evening to remember when she gets you belly dancing the night away!! http://www.tevecdance.com/

Aunty Fabulous TIP OF THE WEEK!

Put Your Favourite Music On At Home And Dance – singalong too! If you have children at home they will join in and LOVE IT! Such fun!

There are also personal trainers that will come to your home and are more cost effective when there are a few of you. Enquire at your local gym and please make sure they are fully qualified fitness trainers.

Aunty Fabulous Tip:

Rotate whose home your personal trainer goes to each week – this is better than feeling you are the one that has to host everything all the time.

Swimming is also a great all rounder for keeping fit too.

Aunty Fabulous Tip:

If you go the hairdressers weekly – swim on the day you are having your hair done!

And don’t just stop at meeting friends for a workout. Arrange to have a coffee or healthy snack afterwards. Make it a social event too! Something to look forward to.

If you take your baby/children and or dog for a walk to the park arrange to meet a friend who can join you. Get inspired by knowing how much better you will feel after being in the fresh air too.

Maybe there is a walking group in your area. Look in your local paper or gym for anyone taking groups out. A great way to socialize and get fit at the same time!

Once you are in a routine and enjoying your new workout regime you may decide to go to a couple of classes on your own.

If you want to de-stress all of the above is the perfect solution. Meditation is also a great way to relax and energise your mind if you want to compliment your fun workouts!

And of course there are fitness apps and dvd’s amongst many other options to invest in.

Aunty Fabulous Final Tip Of The Week:

Make your fun exercise regime part of your daily routine.
